Sushi oyama

Grayson and I wanted to visit Coquitlam center park today because we wanted to soak in the little bit of sunshine we still have left in Vancouver. Somehow we lost track of time and ended up eating at Sushi oyama in Coquitlam.

We don’t come here often so we didn’t really know where to go but we remembered that there was a Sushi Oyama next to Vesta Grill, when we went there a couple months back so we decided to go there since we knew where it was already and didn’t want to bother searching for another place.

Seafood salad

We usually always end up ordering a seafood salad because I love my sashimi and we always need to have some greens because I find that going for sushi usually only means rice and proteins. At least that’s how it is for us.

Aburi salmon sashimi

Grayson really wanted to try these because they were a “new” product here and he hasn’t had aburi in a while. He said that he liked the sauce on top because it was sweet and tangy at the same time. I think the value was okay being that it was $2.95 for 2 pieces and usually aburi tends to be on the pricier side

Alaska roll, Smoked Salmon roll and Bills roll

Nothing too special here. Just your standard rolls. I thought the rice was a little too sticky for my liking but otherwise they were okay. The smoked salmon roll was really just a california roll with a minuscule sliver of smoked salmon on top which was disappointing so I wouldn’t get it again.
