Special Tendon
We decided to try out the Special Ten-don to try out everything they had to offer. It had tempura White Fish, Shrimp, Kakiage (seafood), Soft Boiled Egg, Seaweed, and Green Bean. The tempura pieces were fried to golden brown perfection. They remained nice and crispy as well. The miso soup it came with was flavourful too. The only downside is that the size of the bowl is deceiving because the tempura sits on a tray that separates it from the rice on the bottom. While this keeps the tempura crispy, it makes the portion look bigger than it is.
Overall, Kaneko Hannosuke is a pretty good Japanese tempura don spot with items ranging from $16 – 20.
