Protein brownies (vegan friendly)

I’ve been trying to up my protein intake lately, because 1) I have a hard time meeting my daily requirements for it because we rarely have seafood at home for pescatarian me and 2) I’m trying to build muscle so I need to have more protein than the recommended amount to help retain it. Which also means, I’ve been experimenting with adding protein packed bakes. So that’s why I created these Protein brownies!

Typically I steer away from dairy but since my veggie protein is still getting shipped to me, I decided to use brother deer’s whey isolate for this Protein brownies recipe instead. Although, I have to admit that I’m not a huge fan of whey because I don’t like the taste/texture of it but it’ll have to do for now.  I’ll probably update this post when I get my veggie protein in to let you all know how they turn out because different powders give off different textures when baked.

I’m sorry to hear that Patti. What type of protein powder did you use? sometimes variations in the percentage of whey to casein can play a role in how absorbent it is.
