Presotea 鮮茶道 recently opened a new location at Brentwood Town Centre right under the skytrain station. I can already sense that this is going to be one of the newest hot spots in the area. Presotea 鮮茶道 prides themselves on fresh tea that’s fresh made. We give them a visit to see if that’s really the case!
Presotea 鮮茶道 originated in Taiwan and from there, they opened chain stores all across the globe. They use a special process of tea making and picking that has been around for generations to ensure that their tea leaves are high-quality and preserves flavour. Presotea brews tea and adds seasonal fresh fruits and ingredients to it to create unique drinks.
Not sure what to choose from their menu? All Presotea locations have a poster in their cafe to show you their bestsellers! They include the panda milk tea, brown sugar milk tea, milk tea triple combo, cheese cream peach oolong tea, strawberry cloud, fresh mango slush passionfruit with pearl and jelly, matcha milk tea with red bean, roasted oolong milk tea and signature fruit tea.
Milk tea with pearls
I’ve have the milk tea at Presotea before in the past but I found the one here to be better than the one I had last time. You could taste the black tea flavour in the background and the chewy pearls added caramel flavour. I noticed that the pearls here are a bit smaller in diameter than I’m used to but I actually liked them better this way! They were also super chewy and delicious. I like that the milk tea here is perfectly balanced between the milk and tea!
Passion fruit 2Q tea
When you order this drink you have the option to choose between green, oolong, or black tea as the base. I went with the oolong tea but I couldn’t really taste it through the passion fruit flavour. I got the drink unsweetened and it was still pretty sweet with some tart undertones. There were a few passion fruit seeds in the drink but not enough for it to be noticeable. The 2Q of the drink refers to the coconut jelly and tapioca pearls that are in the drink. I liked the blend of the two toppings and can see why this is one of their top drinks.
Summer fruit tea
There wasn’t really an explanation of the summer fruit tea but Mother deer said it was really tasty. She said there was a strong tea flavour with a few fruity notes in between. The drink also came with coconut jelly and basil seeds! She would definitely get it again. There is also a regular fruit tea so I’m not sure if they offer this summer version year round.
Cream cheese peach oolong tea
This is another one of their top 10 drinks. The oolong tea had peach undertones but if you didn’t know there was peach in it you wouldn’t be able to tell. The cream cheese topping was fluffy and smooth adding a rich creaminess to the peach oolong tea. My only comment is that I wish they added more of it because there was a lot more tea than the topping! It was also a bit difficult to get the topping and tea at the same time because the straw didn’t reach both portions at the same time.
Blueberry fruit tea with coconut jelly
I’ve never had a blueberry fruit tea before so I decided to try it out! The blueberry flavour was strong almost as though there was a spoonful of blueberry jam in it. I’m not typically a fan of fruit tea but this was a tasty one! I could have done without the coconut jelly since it added more sweetness to the drink but overall, pretty great drink if you’re looking for something refreshing.
Milk tea with pineapple jelly
Grayson enjoys the milk teas from Presotea so he got one with pineapple jelly. It’s one of the only spots that he orders it at in addition to Coco and Gongcha. The milk tea is creamy with caramel notes with a few hints of black tea in the background. If you’re a fan of stronger milk teas, this probably isn’t the one for you. The pineapple jelly was a nice sweet addition to the drink.
