New segment – clean eats

Oracle came back for a visit a few weeks ago and we ended up talking about clean eating. She asked me a bunch of questions about it because I know a lot about it. I do bake a lot but I don’t bake for myself, I bake for everyone around me. As a matter of fact, I’m actually not a dessert or sweet person (unless you’re talking about personality then in that case I’m sweet as can be ^_^ yay self love).

Anyway, Oracle asked me a bunch of questions about what I eat and wanted my clean eating recipes. I was inspired to start a new recipe series on eating clean and healthy. Each of these posts will highlight a certain grain, vegetable or fruit and I’m going to have a little blurb about why it’s good for you. Plus, the recipes are going to be super simple with 5 main ingredients or less. Yup, you don’t need much to eat healthy,so no excuses!

I don’t think a post is a post without photos so here’s a few of my lovely amazing garden…through the seasons. This past summer, we decided to invest in some blueberry bushes. I think that it’s one of the most wonderful things we have gotten yet!

Don’t worry we make sure our blueberries are kept company so we also have radishes, kale, green onion, and beets.

But wait, there’s still more! Say hello to our green onions, leeks, romaine lettuce, and dinosaur kale.

Don’t they all look so wonderful? There’s nothing better than being able to harvest and eat something from your own garden!

And…now our kale decides to keep strong and brave through the winter!

In addition to all those lovely veggies and blueberries, we have chayote, cucumber, bell pepper, green peas, winter melon, kabocha pumpkin, potatoes, strawberries, cherry tomatoes and Asian pear trees. Yup, we have quite a variety of greenery and I absolutely adore it. I’m going to go start thinking about what recipes I should share first now so until next time my fellow foodies!
