Morak Korean Fusion

Morak Korean Fusion is a fusion restaurant that is located right across from Metrotown. I’ve walked by this restaurant dozens of times before but have yet to try it because there’s just so many Korean places to dine at along Kingsway. But, Grayson has been into fusion cuisine lately so we decided to go to this one instead of the more traditional Korean locations in the area.

Morak Korean Fusion

Our meal at Morak Korean Fusion came with the usual banchan offerings. The potatoes were marinated well and were tender without being too mushy. I wasn’t a fan of the kimchi though because it was really bland and not spicy at all.

This was the best sundubu I’ve ever had! The soup was insanely flavorful and filled with a truckload of silky tofu, shrimp, cabbage, and other yummy things. I’d come back for this again and again. As a matter of fact, I don’t think I’m ever going to have sundubu anywhere else! The one here was just too good!

Gaangpong chicken

Grayson decided to be adventurous and get this dish. Neither of us have seen this on a menu before and were intrigued by it. The description on the menu said that it was garlic fried chicken with sweet and sour sauce. At first we thought that it might be similar to Chinese styled sweet and sour pork but it wasn’t like that at all.

Grayson said the chicken was fried very well and remained crispy without being greasy. The sauce was definitely sweet and sour and I think they used bulgolgi marinade for the sweet aspect. The rice it came with had a few speckles of veggies in it and the side cabbage salad had a nice sweet and tangy citrus dressing.
