Kingspark

Grayson comes here with his friends…A LOT because they always hang out in Richmond but being that we are rarely ever here, I have yet to try Kingspark. But, one day we were running errands down in Richmond and we really wanted Hong Kong cafe food but it was getting late so we didn’t have time to look around for places so we decided to just come here since it was the closest.

Lobster soup

Grayson always gets the chef special combos when he’s here. It comes with a drink, salad and soup. He decided to upgrade his soup to the lobster soup this time around and was disappointed with what he got. He said that the soup tasted more like cream than anything else and there wasn’t very much lobster in it.

Garlic shrimp and chicken

He got the A+B combo and chose to get the garlic shrimp, and garlic chicken steak. He said that the chicken thigh was cooked well and wasn’t dry on the inside. It could of been more flavorful though because he didn’t really taste much of the garlic. The shrimp however, was fantastic. He said that the shrimp wasn’t dry or chewy and the garlic butter on top really helped it stay juicy and moist.

Seafood laksa noodle soup

I decided to get this because I haven’t had laksa in a while. The soup had notes of coconut but it wasn’t overwhelming. I think the soup could of had a little more depth of flavor because I couldn’t really taste a lot of aromatics but I shouldn’t be complaining too much considering that this wasn’t a Malaysian restaurant.

The soup had shrimp, tofu puffs, fish tofu, imitation crab meat, basa fish fillet, bean sprouts and half an egg in it along with a truckload of rice noodles. I really think that there could of been more seafood because about 1/3 of the way through my bowl, I was left with just noodles and eating just plain noodles in soup got boring…fast.

I can’t remember the last time I had laksa! I love it but never get it because I find it a hard dish to share and when we eat Malaysian, we tend to get a few dishes to share. I think I need to go out just for laksa.

    1. Hehe it’s hard for me to share it too because I want it ALL to myself! nom nom nom!
