Cinnamony, carmelly, gooey and oh so delicious. This cinnamon pull-apart bread is so addictingly delicious that the cinnamon bun should watch out because seriously, I swear this is going to take over!

Pull-apart bread is the best

Lil bun’s favorite way to eat bread has got to be pull aparts.

I’ve made pullapart bread and monkey bread before but it’s been a while since I’ve made it. So one day out of the blue I decided to make pull apart bread but with apples to give it an extra special little twist.

Then to make it even better, I made it in the regular pull apart version and a monkey bread version so lil’ bun can have the best of both worlds.

Gosh have we missed out all these years. I don’t even know how we managed to make everything else cinnamon besides these lovely loafs. The thing we love about pull apart bread so much is how fun they are to eat!

One piece for you, one piece for me, one piece for you, two pieces for me, sneak some more pieces for me when you’re not looking…one piece for you again.

Okay I kid, I’m not so horrible to have eaten so much of it while lil’ bun wasn’t looking but that is something brother deer would of totally done. Hmm…maybe we should play a game for the pieces next time…winner gets to indulge in a slice of cinnamony- goodness while the loser watches. (:

Cinnamon pull-apart bread (vegan)

Recipe Type: Bread
Serves: 1
Cinnamony, carmelly, gooey and oh so delicious. Mooooveee on over cinnamon bun, the cinnamon pullapart loaf is all we need!
Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 cup warm water
  • 2 teaspoon yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 1/4 cup whole wheat flour (or all purpose white flour)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon (we love cinnamon so we used more)
Instructions
  1. Combine the warm water, sugar and yeast in a small bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add the whole wheat flour into a large bowl. When the yeast mixture is foamy, add it into the bowl. Stir with a fork until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough until elastic. This should take 15 – 20 minutes.
  4. Return the dough back into a greased bowl and cover it with a tea towel. Let the dough rise for 1.5 hours in a warm place or until doubled in size.
  5. When the dough is ready, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle.
  6. Combine the brown sugar and cinnamon together. Spread the melted butter onto the dough and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
  7. Cut the rectangle into 2″ horizontal strips. Layer the strips on top of each other.
  8. Then cut the strips vertically to form 2″ x 2″ squares and place them into a lined loaf pan.
  9. Let the loaf rise again for 30 mins this time.
  10. Bake at 350F for 30 – 40 minutes until golden brown.
