Baci Ristorante is an Italian restaurant located along Hastings St. We’ve passed by Baci Ristorante numerous times over the years but have yet to try their dishes. Baci offers a variety of fine-dining Italian dishes including pastas, fish, meat and brick-oven pizza.
Large pizza
We decided to try out some of their brick-oven pizzas because Old Bean had been craving pizza for a few weeks now. The first pizza we ordered had sausage, Capicola ham, and bacon. The other pizza had Prosciutto, pineapple and chicken. Both pizzas came with marinara sauce, cheese and a side of veg to go on top. The little tub of veg was seasoned with olive oil and Italian herbs.
The pizza had a thin crust and was throughly covered with toppings. Even though we picked up the pizza right when it was done, the crust wasn’t crispy by the time we ate it which was disappointing. We also noticed that they didn’t cut the pieces very evenly because some slices were much smaller than others. I guess it doesn’t matter if you are sharing it at home but it wouldn’t be good at a party to have unevenly sized pizzas.
Overall, the pizzas were pretty tasty but I prefer the ones from Sopra Sotto. I look forward to trying some of their other Italian dishes though because apparently those are the dishes that they specialize in.
