Truedan 珍煮丹 – Kingsway

jenjudan vancouver

Jenjudan 珍煮丹 is the newest Taiwanese bubble tea chain to enter the Vancouver brown sugar pearl scene. I visited Jenjudan 珍煮丹 for the first time a couple of weeks ago at their Richmond location. I loved my drinks that I decided to give them a revisit at their Burnaby Kingsway location!

The store front is similar to the Richmond location. There isn’t any seating inside the cafe but there are bar tables. I assume that there are normally chairs there but they were removed due to the pandemic. The first thing I noticed when I stepped into the cafe was the big wall of tea! They have a real menu but you can select your teas by looking on the wall too!

Brown sugar taro milk

I decided to try out their Brown sugar taro milk because it seems that fresh taro milk drinks have been popular lately. We recently tried the taro milk from Xing Fu Tang so I wanted to see how it compared. The taro milk here is much chunkier and you could order it unsweetened. The taro added earthiness to the drink but it was essentially mashed taro with fresh milk. I wish there was more to the drink because it was $6.25

Chrysanthemum tea

The Chrysanthemum tea wasn’t customizable but Grayson loved how fresh and light the tea was. The tea came with real Chrysanthemum flowers inside! I’m not sure how it was sweetened but it tasted a bit like honey. Grayson decided to add coconut jelly to it and it went together really well! He said he would get this again next time. You can get this drink hot so you can enjoy it when it’s colder out.
