Hello friends! We recently fell in love with the food at Alpina bar so we decided that we would give the Buffet at the Grand Villa Casino a try. Plus, we wanted to compare it to the one at River Rock Casino.
Food at The buffet at Grand Villa Casino
Salad bar
They have a cold salad bar (above) where you can choose your greens and all your fix-ins on top of it. I would of liked more protein options but it’s nice they have beans offered as vegetarian protein source.
Beside it they have a pre-made salad bar with bean salad, pasta salad, potato salad, and noodle salad.
Veggies
This was where you could get your roasted potatoes, rice, carrots and cauliflower. Sometimes they ahve corn too so if you’re not a raw veggie fan, you still have options.
Prepared meats
Baked beans with shredded pork, grilled chicken, fish nuggets and meat balls.
Pasta
The pasta offerings are usually one standard pasta and the other one a stuffed pasta.
Fish
The fish ranges from salmon to basa fish and is usually topped with tomatoes for flavoru.
Meat carving
This is sometimes roast beef and other times it’s ham. If you’re here on the weekend, you get the choice between the two so lucky you! The roast beef is sometimes far more on the raw side than others so make sure you get there quick if you want your pick of cut.
Dessert bar
There’s not much to choose from here. Only a few coffee cake options, donut holes, and cream puffs. If you’re here for dinner they usually have a warm berry crumble of sorts too next to the ice cream machine.
At $20 an adult for dinner and $15 for lunch, this buffet fairs close to the price of going for all-you-can-eat sushi. I’d say going for sushi you’re able to have more variety with your options but this is a good alternative if you’re craving westcoast cuisine. This definitely didn’t compare to the buffet I went to in Taipei but for Vancouver standards it’s comparable.
