Grayson and I have started to have takeout lately because I’ve been obsessed with having picnics to enjoy the last bits of summer. This time we decided to visit Sanbo Chinese Restaurant in Richmond. Sanbo Chinese Restaurant offers traditional Chinese dishes including rice, noodles, meat, and desserts.
Preserved vegetables and pork noodle soup
The preserved vegetables and pork noodle soup was not what I expected. Instead of being in a dry mixture of pork and vegetables, it came with a thick soy sauce based roux. I mixed the roux in with the rice noodles and it was almost as though I could enjoy it as soupless noodles! I eventually added in the soup because the mixture was on the salty side. Unfortunately, this didn’t help because the soup was also very salty. The noodles were pretty average but hit the spot.
Curry Beef Brisket noodle soup
Grayson was craving curry brisket noodle soup because he hasn’t had this dish in a while. He said that the beef brisket was tender and that there was enough curry flavour but it wasn’t spicy. The only complaint is that there could have been some vegetables in it but overall it was pretty good.
