Grayson and I went to Royal Seoul House for dinner after school one day. We were actually supposed to come here a couple months back but by the time we got there, it was packed and we were too hungry to wait to be seated.
One of the good things about Royal Seoul House is that they have parking behind the restaurant. This was a total plus because we all know how hard it is to find parking in the West Vancouver area.
The interior of the restaurant had an oriental theme to it and there were structures that resembled buildings you would find in Asia. They also had numerous private rooms for larger parties as well.
Banchan
2 types of kimchi, braised potatoes, sesame beansprouts and pickled seaweed
Godeungeo Gui and Doenjang
Grayson got the grilled mackerel and tofu soup set. He said that the mackerel looked small at first but after picking and eating at it for a while he realized that there was more than he thought! He said that it was a little dry though so the soup helped but at least the skin was crispy?
Kimchi Jjigae
I usually get the seafood tofu soup when I go to Korean restaurants but I decided to try something new and got this kimchi version instead
There wasn’t really anything else in it besides the (overcooked) egg, kimchi, tofu and a few onions though so that was a little disappointing but the soup was flavorful and it was spicy enough for my liking
Summary
Would I come back? yes
I love this place!
One of my new favs but of course Jong Ga is the best
