I’m honored to announce that I am working with Nutribar to raise awareness of Nutribar’s first e-commerce site! This means you can now order your favorite products on line making staying on track and healthy even easier. Nutribar meal replacement bars can be used for weight maintenance or loss and they have been clinically proven to satisfy hunger levels for up to five hours! They’re also regulated under the guidelines provided by the Canadian government.

So what’s the difference between a protein bar, energy bar and meal replacement bar?

Protein bars are designed to be snacks in-between meals or as post-workouts. They focus on protein content and this can be provided in the form of whey, legumes, or grains.

Energy bars are designed to give you energy. They’re typically high in sugar whether it be natural or added. They’re also used in-between meals or pre-workout. If you’re a fan of energy bars, try the Nutribar Health bars which are made out of dates and nutes to give you fuel

Meal replacement bars can be used as a snack or to replace a meal altogether which makes them easy for those who are always on-the-go. In addition to having a balance of protein, carb and fat, they also have essential vitamins and minerals in it.

Nutribar protein bars

Chocolate temptation

I was interested to try this one because the protein blend is different from the other two high protein bars. It uses a “craveX” blend instead. It was chocolatey but had a bit of a chalky after taste to it. The bar was dense and didn’t have much of a chew to it.

Chocolate truffle

The base is dense similar to the chocolate temptation bar from the collection. This chocolate truffle one didn’t have as much of a chalk-y aftertaste as the chocolate temptation bar perhaps because of the difference in protein blend.

Caramel Nougat

The interior reminded me of a candy bar with gooey caramel inside. If you’re a caramel fan you’ll love this one. I’m not sure if it’s because of the caramel, but this bar was softer than the chocolate ones. I wouldn’t say it was “nougat” texture since it wasn’t chewy but it was definitely softer. If you’re not a fan of sweet things, this might not be the one for you because after a few bites it can be too much!

Oatmeal Raisin

Although on the sweet side, this was my favorite bar of the bunch. The taste was reminiscence of an oatmeal raisin cookie. The bar was soft and a little chewy too. The yogurt coating on the outside is what adds to the sweetness of it. I could of done without the coating because it took the sweetness over the top for me but it was good so I enjoyed them anyways

Chocolate fudge

The texture of this bar was similar to the chocolate high protein bars. It’s firm and takes effort to break in half. I thought that this was pretty much the same as the chocolate truffle bar but with less protein.

Belgian chocolate

This bar is made out of milk chocolate instead of dark so it ends up being a sweeter version of the chocolate fudge.

Deep Brownie delight: This bar tasted like a combination between the chocolate fudge and the oatmeal raisin. The flavor was dark and there were a few crisps in it that made it crunchy. The texture of it was softer and more similar the the oatmeal raisin.

  1. I have never tried Nutribar but the Mocha Almond and Creamy Caramel flavours sound amazing! I stay healthy on the go by carrying a water bottle everywhere I go and eating protein-packed snacks.

Yeah I usually feel okay after 1/3 of a bar as a snack. I’ve never used them to replace a meal though because I love my meals too much!

  3. I would love to try the Chocolate truffle flavour. I love anything chocolate! I try to stay healthy on the go by having snacks with me like water and granola bars so I’m not tempted to buy something unhealthy like a burger and fries.

  4. I think my fave flavour would be Caramel Nougat.
To keep healthy on the go, I make sure I have a refillable water bottle and some trail mix or fruit cup.

Custom made trailmix is the bessttt! I’m guilty of adding too many chocochips in mine though!
