Morak Korean restaurant

Morak korean fusion seafood soup

I went to Sooda a couple of weeks ago but I was still craving Korean food so we went to Morak Korean restaurant. Morak Korean restaurant is located in Central Burnaby across from Metrotown mall. They offer a lunch special menu as well as a regular menu.

I’ve been to Morak before but it was for dinner so I didn’t realize they had so many lunch specials! They have a few items that are a few dollars off their dinner menu price but what the best deal is their lunch combos. Their lunch specials offer a variety of Korean dishes put into one so that you can try everything at once! It’s perfect for anyone who’s indecisive or new to Korean food.

Sundubu

There was no question about it, Raven and I both got the seafood tofu soup. It’s what we both always get when we go for Korean food together. I wish I could say we order different things at other restaurants but I’m pretty sure we have similar taste buds. The pot was mostly filled with soft tofu with hardly any seafood in sight. The seafood that it did have were a few pieces of shrimp so it wasn’t too eventful. The spice level was good but it could have used some more veggies.

Rice cake

We also decided to share a small rice cake. It was $8 and there wasn’t a lot on the plate. We wouldn’t get it again because it wasn’t worth it and the rice cakes were cooked too long so instead of being chewy in texture, they were soft. The sauce on the rice cakes was super good though because it wasn’t too sweet and it was quite spicy.
