Hi Munchies! I’ve been obsessed with cold-pressed juices since I’ve had them from Buddha-full. I’ve been wanting to try Loop cold pressed juices ever since I saw them pitch on Dragon’s Den quite a few seasons ago. It took them a while to get into stores over here in BC but ever since they have, I can’t stop going back for more!
Loop is a company that makes fresh cold-pressed juices using the fruits and vegetables that are usually discarded due to blemishes or imperfections that prevent them from being sold in stores. It’s unfortunate we have so much food waste in the world just because something doesn’t look “perfect” enough to be sold but I’m so happy that companies like this are trying to put them into use!
LOOP is a circular economy project created by like-minded dreamers sharing a common goal: to put an end to food waste. It’s pretty simple: we give value back to rejected food by transforming it into awesome products.

King of the Hill
Ingredients: Clementine, carrot, pineapple, fennel, apple and turmeric
This was one of the sweeter juices of the bunch. It tasted like liquid gold in the form of candy. Addicting with bright flavours from the carrots and pineapples but mellowed out by the fennel and turmeric. Easily one of my top favourites
Sweetness level: 4/5
Beach Bum
Ingredients: Pineapple, yellow pepper, ginger and turmeric
This was pure….bell pepper. All I could taste when I was drinking this juice was bell pepper which is good in a sense because imagine how many bell peppers were used to make this juice! So unless you’re a fan of bell pepper, you probably won’t be a huge fan of this particular juice. I wish there was more pineapple to it.

Morning Glory
Ingredients: orange, clementine, strawberry
Mmmmmm another one of their sweeter juices. This one had notes of strawberries but it was mostly citrus in flavour. The orange added brightness and the clementine made the juice slightly tart to balance the flavours out.

Undercover
Ingredients: Pear, cucumber, celery, spinach, kale, parsley, pineapple, lemon, and jalapeno
This one was another one of my top favourites. This is more of your traditional green juice and wasn’t as sweet as any of the other juices which I liked. You could taste the pineapple and lemon in the background but the most dominant flavours are the celery and cucumbers that were put into the juice. The jalapeno throws you off a bit but it’s mostly in the aftertaste.

High Achiever
Ingredients: Beet, grape, cucumber, celery, carrot, apple, lime, and cayenne
Another sweet juice from Loop! I have yet to see grape used in a cold-pressed juice but it was magnificent! It added the sweetness this juice needed to balance out the earthiness of the beets. I know some people aren’t a fan of celery but you don’t notice it in this juice at all because of the sweeter fruits that are in it. The cayenne isn’t very noticeable either.

Loco local
Ingredients: Apple, blueberry, mint and cranberry
This juice reminded me of a twist on the mojito. The mint is upfront and the blueberry flavour isn’t far behind. The apple really sweetens the juice up but not too much because the cranberry is there to add in tartness to round everything out delicoiusly.
Sweetness level: 3/5
Big Bang
Ingredients: Honeydew, grape, raspberry, pomegranate, and lemon
Let’s end everything in a bang! This was sweet because all the fruits in it packed a flavourful punch. The lemon tried its best to balance things out but it didn’t stand much of a chance against the grape, honeydew and pomegranate. I know this isn’t the best but I did water it down a bit because it was a bit too sweet for my taste.
Sweetness level: 5/5
Overall I loved all the juices from Loop and I love their Mission to help reduce food waste in the world. The cool thing about their company is not only do they make cold-pressed juices but they also make fruity beers and soaps!
They also make larger sizes of some of their juices now and have a few new ones coming out I can’t wait to try out!
