In-n-Out Burger

Hello friends! During my trip to San Francisco I was finally able to try the infamous In-n-Out burger! The great debate between Shake Shack and In-n-Out will finally be answered!

In-N-Out packaging

What I loved about In-N-Out was how they kept to the classic diner vibe and packaging for their food. On the flipside, Shake Shack was much more modern in contrast. As much as I would have loved to enjoy the diner feels in the restaurant, we actually didn’t end up dining in. We were about to leave San Fran so we ended up eating the burgers on our flight back!

As someone who likes to pay attention to packaging, I enjoyed reading all the facts they had on the paper burger wrapper they used for their burgers since 1948! I actually love this kind of packaging much better than the usual where the whole burger is wrapped because 1) it’s easier to eat it this way and 2) you get to look at all the goodness on the inside!

Cheeseburger

Although they had cheeseburger and double patty versions of their burgers, we decided to get 2 of their regular burgers to see how it tasted without all the glitz and glam. I was very impressed with how the buns stood up because they stayed spongy and dry even though we ate them a good 4 hours or so after we got them. The lettuce and tomatoes also stayed crispy and firm.

What I also loved about the burger was the ratio! It had an even split of top bun to onion to patty to lettuce to tomato to bottom bun! This made every bite even with flavor and you didn’t end up getting too much of any element at any given time. What deters me from burgers is usually because they end up being too soggy or saucy but it wasn’t the case with these at all. There was a good amount of everything on it and their signature “secret sauce” added a unique touch.

While I’m not exactly a burger person, I’d definitely have another one of these burgers. I mean at $3, they’re a total steal!
