Shake Shack

Hello friends! I just came back from my NYC trip a month ago and while we were there Brother Deer said we HAD to try Shake Shack. Now I’m no burger fiend so I didn’t think anything much of it even though so many people rave about how great their burgers are. So here’s what I thought about my first ever visit to the infamous gourmet burger joint, Shake Shack.

Chickn bites

These were their version of chicken nuggets. They were mini chicken tenders and you could actually taste chicken in every bite! They came with your choice of sauce and we went with bbq because you can’t go wrong with that. We were all pleasantly surprised with how great these were.

Crinkle fries

We weren’t going to get these at first but mother deer insisted that we try them because she never had crinkle fries before. She then insisted we had to get them with the cheese sauce and it was a good thing we did because it was nothing like nacho cheese at all. It was creamy and didn’t have that bright orange artificial cheese colour but had all the cheesy flavor.

Chick’ shack

This was quite the chicken burger. The chicken patty was fried to crispy perfection just like the chick’n bites. It was then sandwiched between two potato buns and lettuce was added to the middle. What made the burger was the buttermilk herb mayo that they had on the inside. The McChicken had nothing on this chicken burger.

Shackburger

This is their iconic cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato and shacksauce. They offer this with a single or double patty on the inside. I’m still not sure what is in their shacksauce but it added an element of creaminess and tanginess to the burger that made it very rich. I do like that they didn’t skimp on the fresh veggies on the inside even though they hardly stood a chance next to the sauce.

Shack stack

Last but not least we got the shack stack. This was the biggest burger on the menu and it involved a cheeseburger topped with a shroom burger which was a crisp-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted cheese. Yes it was one of those gooey and messy to eat burgers but it was worth the mess. I was surprised as to how crispy the mushroom patty stayed even though portobello mushrooms tend to be on the juicy side and retain water. Needless to say it was quite the intense burger to eat.
