Am I the only one who gets an inkling for ice cream when the sun comes out? I would sure hope not I mean the ice-cream market has got to be made up of more than just me during the colder seasons. I went to Glenburn because 1) it’s super closer to my house, 2) it has a super retro vibe and 3) the ice cream there is super yums.
Glenburn is one of the gems of the Burnaby Heights. It’s classic diner ice cream shop vibe is to die for and makes you feel like you’ve gone back in time!
Glenburn menu
As if the classic diner look wasn’t enough, I absolutely adore their simple and classic chalkboard menu. There aren’t many places that have this look anymore. Speaking of which, look how affordable everything on their menu is!
Medium sundae
Although they offer quite a few retro treats like their egg creams, rickeys and malts, I decided to go with a classic medium sundae ($5) to share with lil’ bun. We chose to get ours with vanilla and butterscotch. I find the ice cream here to be super creamy without being too sweet. They also have signature sundaes there that are a lot bigger than their classic ones but lil’ bun and I did not have the tummy space to finish them. So, until next time oh so delicious sundaes!
Ice cream flavours
On another visit, I decided to go for a cone so I got to choose from their board of ice cream flavors. Compared to other ice cream shops, their flavor list isn’t very long but they do have all the essential flavors on there!
Mint cookie ice cream
I decided to go with the mint cookie because I love me some mint chip but I wanted something different. It was strong in mint flavor and even though it had cookie chunks, the ice cream wasn’t overly sweet. I’d definitely have this again!
