Dakasi has come to Vancouver and their first location is in New Westminster. Dakasi is a bubble tea chain that originated in Taiwan in 1990 and has been spreading around the world since. They specialize in using fresh teas and unique flavours! One of their more notable drinks are their charcoal oolong latte, black sugar milk tea and mango slush!
The interior of the cafe was spacious with a few tables to sit at in the seating area. The walls were grey but there were pops of colour throughout to add highlights throughout the room. I liked that all the tables were decently spaced out for safety. There was also enough room for a waiting area for those who are waiting to pick up their orders.

Charcoal Oolong Fresh Milk Tea
This was their charcoal oolong milk tea. I was looking forward to it because it sounded so unique since it had charcoal in it. The barista making my drink was new and asked for assistance to make it. I’m not sure if my drink was made incorrectly or not but there was extra oolong tea at the end that he poured out. The drink itself tasted of oolong tea with smoky notes peaking through the creamy milk. The pearls were chewy and cooked well to perfection. I didn’t think the flavour was too different than a regular oolong milk tea though.
Jasmine Green Fresh Milk Tea
The jasmine green fresh milk tea here is SUPER floral and fragrant. I’ve never had a jasmine milk tea with such strong floral notes before and reminded me of soap. I wouldn’t get it gain purely because it was too floral for my taste but if you’re a fan of strongly scented tea, this would be a great choice for you. There was also a light sweetness to the drink from the pearls.
Mango Black Tea
Now for something a little more fruity! The mango black tea here was a delight to have! The mango wasn’t very sweet and didn’t taste artificial. Since black tea is a more robust tea, it was nice to have the mango in the background balancing the flavours out. I can see why this is one of their top fruit teas!
