Colony Northwoods opened mid-September and is already one of the busier places in the area. After a crazy week at our jobs, Oracle and I decided to grab Happy Hour at Colony Northwoods. They only have 3 food items on their happy hour menu including the nickel burger, a 2 slider place and wings. Compared to other bars, their food offerings were definitely lacking but they did excel in the craft beer department.
Drinks
I decided to go with a highball ($4) and Oracle went with the on tap Lavender craft ($5.25). She really enjoyed the hint of lavender in her beer and it wasn’t too fizzy either.
BBQ Chicken Flatbread
This wasn’t on the happy hour menu but it looked tasty enough to order so that’s what we did. The thin flatbread was topped with pulled chicken, spinach, tomatoes, onions, mozzarella, cheddar and garlic. So so much garlic.
The garlic that topped the flatbread was supposed to be roasted but they weren’t. The garlic cloves were actually practically raw! We eventually started to pick the garlic off our pizzas because they were entire cloves and there were at least 3 pieces per slice. Our server noticed our pile of uneaten garlic when she checked up on us and said that they would take care of it for us. How nice of them!
With that being said, the flatbread was quite enjoyable. Each slice was packed full of toppings and there weren’t any bare spots in sight. I’d definitely get this again. Hopefully with the garlic cooked this time!
Nickel burger
While the flatbread was enjoyable, this little slider of a burger was disappointing. The patty was a little dry on the dry side and it had pickles, mustard and ketchup on the inside. It reminded me of a fast food burger and at $5, I was more than disappointed. Wouldn’t get this again.
