I’m not usually a huge fan of walnuts but as soon as the Fall season rolls around, I start to crave the warmth they bring to recipes! These cookies are already great on their own but the walnuts add an extra level of flavour by adding both crunch and nuttiness.

Chocolate chip walnut cookies

Soft and chewy chocolate chip walnut cookies perfect for a cold fall day. The walnuts add both crunch and nuttiness to the oh so classic chocolate chip cookie.
Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon corn starch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350F
  2. Sift the flour, baking powder, corn starch and salt into a medium bowl. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar and the granulated sugar together until smooth. Stir in the eggs and vanilla. It should look like a caramel coloured paste.
  4. Add the flour into the wet mixture 1/3 at a time. Mix in-between each addition to ensure the batter is mixed thoroughly.
  5. Divide the batter into 12 golf ball sized cookies and place onto a lined cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 350F for 10-12 minutes or until cookies are golden brown on the bottom.
