Chapter sourdough pizza

Hello friends! In high school I read the Tales of Canterbury so when I was in London I was sooo excited to have been able to visit Canterbury! It was absolutely gorgeous and had bits of history and modern society all in one place. It has quickly become one of my favorite hidden gems of a city in the world!

While we were there we decided to try Chapter sourdough pizzeria and bar. I’ve never had sourdough pizza but LOVE sourdough bread so I decided it would be the perfect place to go. They also have bottomless mimosa specials on the weekend so if you’re looking for a good brunch spot, this is it!

We decided to try 3 of their pizzas because that’s what they’re known for! The crust was thin on all the pizzas we got but if you didn’t know it was a sourdough pizza place you wouldn’t be able to tell because the dough itself wasn’t sour.

Verde Inverno

This pizza had Brussels sprouts, caramelized onion, garlic, pine nuts, tomato and fior di latte cheese. Have you ever had brussels sprouts on pizza? I haven’t! When I first ordered it I thought the brussel spouts would be sliced up thin but it turns out they were just quartered! This made the pizza slices quite difficult to eat because the brussel sprouts kept coming off the slices. That’s not to say we didn’t like the pizza though because the caramelized onions added sweetness, the tomato sauce warm and the fior di latte cheese richness.

This pizza had Prosciutto crudo, tomato, fior di latte, wild rocket, garlic oil, and parmesan. It took us a while to cut through this one because the Prosiutto was in big slices so we had to make sure we cut through it well before lifting up the slices. The Prosciutto was pretty salty but the fresh rocket on top helped balance it out. I wish there was more garlic oil on it because it wasn’t very noticeable in our opinion.

We got this pizza because it was more of a dessert pizza and we’ve never had one before! It had figs, prociutto and fior di latte cheese. I honestly didn’t think that the pizza would be as sweet as it was but in addition to the figs it also had honey drizzle on top! The first few bites of this pizza was good but after a few it got confusing because it wasn’t very savory! It was nice to try something new though 🙂
