Cactus club (Burnaby)

cactus club rob's burger

I decided to go for Happy Hour at Cactus club Burnaby after a wonderful day at Lynn Canyon over the summer. The last time I went to a cactus club Burnaby was a good 3 or 4 years ago for my birthday so when I say it’s been a while since I’ve been here, it’s REALLY been a while.

Watermelon margarita

This was strong but then again, margaritas are always a double at  Cactus club and for $5? What a steal! I didn’t think there was much watermelon flavor though..it was just mostly sweet.

Sunset soda

This is one of my favourite drinks from Cactus club. A little soda water and a little bellini slush on top! Perfect blend of sweetness and tropical flavours!

Cranberry pesto chicken quesadilla

blended cheese, basil pesto, chicken, sundried cranberries, honey line dip

I thought there was a good amount of cheese and chicken on the inside which was surprising because I don’t remember it having so much filling on the inside the last time I had it. I’m not complaining of course because who doesn’t love a nice hefty filling packed quesadilla?

Thai chicken wings

The wings were prepared well and super crispy on the outside. The Thai flavor was supposed to be spicy but they didn’t really think it had much spice or flavor to it for that matter so they were a little disappointing.

Freenie burger + yam fries

smashed certified angus beef, sauteed mushrooms, aged cheddar, smoked bacon, red relish, mayonnaise, ketchup mustard

The burger patty was prepared medium done so it remained juicy on the inside. It was a little difficult to eat since it was so packed fully of fillings but sometimes you just have to get in there and embrace the mess! Oh and the yam fries were on point.
