Boathouse

I loved the location of Boathouse because it gave an ocean view. I really liked the bread they provided. Not only was there a cool shape, but sour dough! It also came with a nice swirl of herbed garlic butter. Yumm

Baja ahi tuna tacos

Our server recommended the baja ahi tuna tacos so we decided to try it. I thought that the tacos would be soft, but they came out with hard shells. This made them a little difficult to eat because they were also quite petite in size and the fillings kept tumbling out. I liked the mango salsa it had since it provided sweetness. The ahi tuna was nice and pinky fresh. It came with a soy sauce glaze and wasabi mayo (I think) which I found interesting as well.

Westcoast grilled chicken salad

I chose the westcoast grilled chicken salad ($16.99). It came with mango, grape tomatoes, carrot, chicken, goat cheese and salad greens of course. The chicken had a bit of dressing on it so it didn’t seem dry. Even though I’m not a fan of goat cheese I liked the creaminess it added to the salad. It was topped with tortilla strips but I wasn’t too fond of those. I’m not sure this was a $17 salad, but I really enjoyed it.

Coconut pacific cod

Coconut pacific cod ($23.99), this was on the lifestyle choice menu which offers healthier choices that are lower in calorie and sodium. It was pan seared cod with coconut lime sauce over a bed of vegetables and quinoa. There was a really aromatic coconut flavor to it which I found delectable. Having the lime there gave the dish the perfect amount of acidity and brightness to make it all work together.

This was my first visit to any of the boathouse restaurant chains and I really enjoyed it. The servers looked happy to work there and were wonderfully attentive to our table as well. I’d come again but perhaps at a location closer closer to where I live.
