Hello Friends! Lately I have been obsessed with the lattes at Starbucks with the stone-ground tea leaves so I decided to use it for inspiration for a cake. This Black tea latte cake is made with tea leaves that are blended up fine and then steeped in milk to bring out its natural aroma.
Black tea latte cake recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons ground tea leaves
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F. Lightly grease cake pan.
- Using an electric beater, beat the eggs and sugar together until they’re light and fluffy. Slowly beat in the vegetable oil.
- Add the flour a cup at a time and beat until just combined. Stir in the salt and baking powder.
- In a medium pot, bring the milk to a boil and add in the ground tea leaves. When the milk is boiling, add in the butter and remove from heat. Stir until butter is melted.
- Pour the milk mixture into the cake batter and mix until incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, and the top feels set. Remove the cake from the oven, and place it on a rack to cool.
Ooh, I want to try making a tea-infused cake! I have WAY too many tea bags that need to be used up. This looks like a great way for me to use some ground tea leaves!
