Tiger Sugar has been the newest addition to the bubble tea craze in Vancouver. They specialize in brown sugar drinks and offers it with pearls or boba. The difference between the two is that pearls are smaller in diameter than pearls. Tiger Sugar strives to make “drink-able” desserts visually aesthetic, relaxing and healing for your soul!
The menu at Tiger Sugar is pretty straight forward with a variety of drink series to choose from. These include the Brown Sugar Milk Series, Brown Sugar Coffee Series, Brown Sugar Red Bean/Tofu Series, Tea Series, Tea Latte Series, and Cheese Mousse Series. Each drink can be customized and additional toppings can be added as well.
Fresh Taro Milk with Mousse Cream
Fresh Taro drinks has quickly become one of Grayson and I’s staples when it comes to bubble tea. The fresh taro added an earthy flavour and the chunky texture makes the drink a delight to have. The taro milk from Tiger Sugar was pretty good but nothing stood out compared to anything we’ve had before. I was really looking forward to the mousse cream aspect of the drink but it was disappointing. Even though I shook the drink before consuming, it was hard to taste the mousse because it was so thick that it stuck to the top layer of the cup. The mousse itself didn’t have any flavour to it either and was more of a whipped cream than a mousse.
