Yuu Japanese Tapas

Grayson and I weren’t really sure what we wanted to eat so we decided to head on over to Yuu Japanese tapas for dinner because they have a bit of everything. Yuu Japanese Tapas has a predominately Japanese menu but have a few “fusion” items on their menu as well. I’ve been here once before at their original location before they moved over to take over Deer Garden

Yuu tsukemen

Although they offered fusion items, we both decided to go with Japanese dishes because that’s what the restaurant specialized in.

Tsukemen

I went with the tsukemen which is a Japanese dipping noodle dish where the ramen is served to you on the side. I was pleasantly surprised with this dish because the broth wasn’t too salty and the ramen was cooked to a perfect level of firmness. The broth had lots of tender pork, a soft egg, and bamboo shoots in it. Grayson couldn’t get enough of the pork because it was so tender!

Oyako don

I wish Grayson could say the same about his dish because he was very disappointed with his Oyako don. The chicken was flavorless and the bowl consisted of mostly rice. There wasn’t enough protein on top to go around so he appreciated me giving him a lot of the pork from my broth.

We both agreed that we’ll be back but we’ll probably stick to the ramen dishes next time.
