Yah Yah Ya ramen has been a ramen spot that Grayson and I have been frequenting lately. There are a few Yah Yah Ya ramen locations in the Metro Vancouver area but it is originally a chain from Japan. Since it came from Japan, Grayson and I expected a quality bowl of ramen noodles.
Yah Yah Ya Mazesoba
The Mazesoba is one of our favourites here because it’s so flavourful and filling. Unfortunately, this dish only comes in one size but there are more than enough toppings to go around. The toppings include bamboo shoots, ground meat, green onions, bean sprouts, seaweed and a raw egg yolk. We usually end up with lots of extra toppings on the bottom and add another bowl of noodles if we’re feeling extra hungry to finish it all up. Otherwise, we just make do with the bowl of rice it comes with.
Shoyu ramen
We finally decided to try one of their ramens this time around. We got their shoyu ramen with regular broth, hard noodles and less fat. The broth was still very flavourful despite having less fat in it and the chashu slices it came with were falling apart because of how tender they were. The egg was marinaded well with just the perfect amount of gooeyness in the yolk. It could have done with a few more toppings but it was delicious never the less.
We can’t wait to revisit Yah Yah Ya ramen to try some of their other menus even though we’ve been here quite a few times already! Read my previous review here!
