If you’re looking to have a fun evening with friends at a cafe with twinkly lights, Twinkle Cube Cafe is the place to be! They have an outdoor patio, cafe seating and darts to play. Twinkle Cube Cafe if located across from Aberdeen Centre in Richmond.
We got there around 8pm because we were looking for a small snack. We ordered at the front and spent some time looking at the cube shops while we were waiting. There wasn’t anyone else at the cafe besides a girl who was clearly dating one of the guys working there. They kept chatting and he was bringing her food. Then you look around and you see Grayson and I waiting for our sandwich which seemed to be taking forever to make. I just thought it was very unprofessional. Mind you he was also eating and not washing his hands with soap before going back to the kitchen and doing more of whatever he was doing.
So after a good 15-20 mins we finally got our sandwich which was mediocre at best. At the same time, the guy who was working in the kitchen came out to sit with the girl and her boyfriend. The three of them proceeded to have dinner together with food from the kitchen. Typically, I would have no problem with this because they need to eat too but they turned on the TV obnoxiously loud and started to watch it. I don’t know if it’s just me but I felt like we were intruding on their dinner or something when we were the paying customers! Eugh.

The cafe looks so cute! What a shame that the food and the customer service in itself was sub-par at best. Maybe they were tired and just didn’t really care about the last few customers given that it seems like 8 PM is a late time for a cafe. Who knows? But yeah, I would agree to say that coming back is not worth it when you can spend your money at higher quality cafes!
I thought so too but it opens until 2am!
