Thai cafe

Mother deer didn’t want to cook one evening because we were out and didn’t get home until around dinner time so we decided to just go out for dinner. We ended up going to Thai Cafe because we wanted Thai food but we already tried Chad Thai a little further down Hastings a while back so we wanted to try somewhere different.

But goodness was visiting Thai cafe a badchoice!

Glass noodle salad

This salad was definitely not worth the $10 we paid for it. It was the smallest pile of noodles we had ever seen in our life! The red onions were cut thickly and it didn’t mix well with the salad either. The ground pork on it was over cooked and tough which definitely didn’t help. I guess there was one saving grace and that was that the dressing on the salad was tangy and full of lime flavor.

Yellow curry

Yellow chicken curry with rice

Again, this was not worth the price. The bowl of curry was so small and I can’t imagine anyone being full on this! The bowl of curry only had 3 pieces of chicken in it along with a few measly pieces of potato. At least the bowl of rice was heaping…

Pad Thai

How could you not get pad thai at a Thai restaurant right? Plus lil bun has made it her mission to try all the Pad Thais at the restaurants we go to. We had high hopes for this because you can actually pay $20 for a giant bowl of pad thai and if you finish it in under 30 mins you get a $30 gift certificate. But once again we were let down. The sauce was far too sweet and we definitely missed the tangy aspect of tamarind!

Yikes, I’ve always wondered how this place was. Guess I’m not trying it anytime soon. :/
