Sushi Loku is definitely one of my favorite Japanese restaurants to go to in Vancouver. Sushi loku serves delicious fresh seafood and emphasize on a-la-carte Japanese dishes over sushi
Seafood bowl
One of my absolute favorites here is the seafood bowl. It’s a bed of salad greens topped with a bowl of rice and assorted seafood including salmon, tuna, bay scallops, crab, tobiko and seaweed salad. The dressing is light and yuzu citrus based giving the whole dish a delicious pop of flavor
Maki rolls
We never really get sushi here but we decided to give it a go today. To be honest the maki rolls could of been a bit neater but they were overall pretty good. The seafood quality was definitely better than most and I just loved the texture and seasoning of the rice. Sticky, wet, mushy sushi rice is the worst and you definitely don’t get that here!
Tropical seafood bowl
I also like to get the tropical seafood bowl here because I get to have a bit of rice, veggies and protein all in one go without committing to having too much fish on my plate as you would get with dons. I think it’s yuzu based and it feels light and compliments the delicate fish well.
Okyako don
Grayson said that this was one of the best oyako dons he has ever had. The seasoning on it was both sweet and salty from the caramelized onions but it was balanced out with the soy. The egg was light and fluffy and definitely not rubbery either.
