Sala Thai

I absolutely love going for Thai food around the exam season. Before heading over to the downtown library, my friends and I decided to head on over to Sala Thai for a brain fueling lunch. Sala Thai is located in downtown Vancouver on Burrard Street. The exterior of Sala Thai is woodsy and you wouldn’t miss it!

Yen Ta Fo

I decided to get the Yen Ta Fo ($9.99) which was an amazingly aromatic bowl of sweet and sour seafood soup with rice noodles. I’ve never had yen ta fo noodles before and I completely fell in love with the flavor of it. The rice noodles weren’t over cooked or mushy and the seafood was of abundance. The broth had a bit of heat to it but had enough vinegary taste to round it all out and create a wonderful balance. If you’re not a fan of green onions you might find that there was a little too much of them in there but I actually liked the freshness they brought.

The staff at Sala Thai were all attentive and made sure to ask if we were enjoying our meal on more than one occasion. They were also more than willing to answer any of our questions about the menu. Oh and before I forget, I should mention how beautiful the interior of the restaurant is. They had lots of decoratively carved tropical fruits when you first walk in and the decor made us feel as though we were walking into Thailand!
