Potter’s Garden revisit

Potter’s Garden has gone through quite the renovation since the last time we have visited 2 years ago but, we wondered if their food stayed just as good as a few years back.

I wish things started off on a better note but we found a HAIR in our bean sprout side dish! Ewh! Not off to a great start Potter’s Garden! Then when we told them they brought out a new one but like the hair was still in the giant batch that they made in the first place so we didn’t end up eating it. Lil bun was disappointed about the potatoes because they are usually her favorite but they were bland and pale. Not a great start.

Galbijjim jeongsik

Old bean decided to get the galbijjim jeongsik. It was short rib with sweet potato noodles, rice cakes and vegetables. The short ribs were super tender. They came off the bone easily and were super soft. There could have been a bit more rice cakes and sweet potato noodles but it came with a bowl of rice so Old bean had enough to eat. He tried to drink the soup but it was far too sweet for him to have more than a couple sips.

Ddokbokhi

I decided to get the ddokbokhi which looked MUCH better than the one I had at Myung-Ga Mandu. Even though this was a few dollars more expensive, it had way more to it. There was fried blood sausage (for old bean), fish cakes, a hard-boiled egg and a fried dumpling. The sauce was sweeter here but I didn’t mind it because it made it easier to eat.

Jajangmyeon

Lil bun got the jajangmyeon which is a noodle with black bean and pork sauce. There was more than enough sauce to coat all the noodles so Old bean had some with his rice too. The sauce was very thick and while it coated all the noodles, it was difficult to have a piece of meat in each bite because they kept falling off the noodles. Overall, it was a filling and tasty dish and she would have it again.
