Le petit saigon

After the first round of midterms, everyone was finally free for a coworker get together. We went to Le petit saigon because it’s sort of the “go-to” place for the group when we feel like having a bite.

Shrimp salad rolls

I, as usual ordered shrimp salad rolls ($5.50), which is shrimp, vietnamese ham, lettuce, pickled carrots and rice vermicelli all bundled up in a rice paper wrap. They were pretty standard, you can’t really go wrong with making these. It comes with a sweet hoisin sauce with chopped peanuts on top.

Grilled meat and spring rolls over vermicelli

Huntress ordered the grilled meat and spring rolls over vermicelli ($8.50). This dish comes with fish sauce, which you’re supposed to pour over the dry rice noodles and spring rolls.  It allows for the noodles to have some flavor to them. You can also pour it over the salad as a dressing if you do so wish.

The crispy spring rolls are filled with clear glass noodles, and mixed vegetables. The fried spring roll coating is different from spring rolls you would find at a Chinese restaurant. The wrap is a little thicker so it is a little chewier when you bite into it.

When you get the bill at Le petit saigon, they offer you a packet of chocolate pocky. (: It’s like the icing on cake, a yummy little treat to have at the end of your satisfying meal.
