After a long morning of shopping at the outlets, we decided to head on over to Kongee dinesty for lunch upon my suggestion because I’ve been wanting to go there for a while and being that it was a cold day, a hot bowl of congee was definitely in order.
Kongee dinesty menu
To my surprise, their lunch menu wasn’t very extensive and mostly consisted of congee, rice and noodle dishes. We wished that there were more dimsum options available besides steamed rice rolls.
Crispy beancurd sheets wrapped mushrooms
These are one of lil’ bun’s favorite Chinese appetizer dishes because she adores the bean curd wrapping. Although this was a vegetarian dish, it was well received at the table and brother deer said that the crispiness of the bean curd made it feel like he was eating peking duck.
Custom congee
original plain congee base + fish and chicken + black sesame soy milk
We couldn’t leave kongee dynasty without trying a bowl of congee! They had a variety of bases to choose from but I decided to go with plain to keep it simple. The congee was really fluffy and creamy!
You also got to choose 2 free toppings to go with your congee and I chose to get mine with fish and chicken. There was surprisingly quite a bit of protein in the bowl.
Black sesame soy milk
And if that wasn’t already awesome enough, you also go to choose a drink to go with it too! Black sesame soy milk is awesome! If you haven’t tried it already, you totally should!
Fried rice with bbq pork and shrimp
We weren’t too fond of this fried rice because not only was the portion small but there wasn’t much to it besides…well, the rice. There could of been more veggies and proteins in it for the price it was. Nothing really special so we wouldn’t get it again.
Preserved vegetables with shredded duck meat and vermicelli
Like with the fried rice, there was nothing special about it…besides the lack of protein. There wasn’t anything special about the soup and for that price…we should of ordered something else…
