I’ve always wanted to go to Jam Jar and they recently opened up a Jam Jar Canteen up at UBC near the Nest. I’m so jealous that places like this and Rain or Shine didn’t pop up at UBC until this past year! Why couldn’t it be there two years ago when I was there everyday?!
Anyway, Jam Jar Canteen has more reasonable prices than the Jam Jar restaurants because they cater to students. All the mains are $10-12 which is at least $5 cheaper than if you were to get them at a Jam Jar location.
Chicken Shish Tawouk
For the mains, you get to choose a base and then a topping. This is the Chicken Shish Tawouk, a yogurt marinaded chicken breast topped with pickled veggies and yogurt sauce. You get to choose a base of either brown rice or salad greens depending on how filling you want your meal to be! Definitely a flavorful and refreshing meal to have on a lunch break!
