Happy lemon Burnaby

It’s been a while since Grayson and I have been to Happy lemon Burnaby but we’ve been meaning to work on completing our stamp cards lately so we decided to pop by the location on Kingsway after our workout. Happy lemon Burnaby is one of the larger Happy Lemon locations in the metro Vancouver area.

This location has a seating area and people had space to study there. They also had a claw machine for those who dare to try to fish out a stuffed animal. One of the things I find helpful at cafes are the “top 10” lists because sometimes you just don’t know what to get and having a list of recommendations is always helpful.

Happy lemon menu

Not too long ago, Happy Lemon was known for their lemon based drinks hence the name but recently their salted cream and specialty drinks have been gaining popularity. Their drinks are slightly pricier than other chains in my opinion being that on average their drinks were $5 for a large size.

Roasted milk tea

I decided to get the original milk tea with pearls because I usually go with the roasted milk tea but I wanted to try their original this time around. Their milk tea is pre-made and they keep it in a giant tub in a fridge which is something that irritates me because as convenient as it may be during busy hours….if I’m going to pay $5 for a drink, please make it fresh! With that being said the pearls were pretty good though.

Light oolong tea with salted cream

Grayson went with his usual light oolong tea with salted cream and coconut jelly. This is him going all out for a treat drink. The amount of cream topping they put in their drinks is only about 1.5cm high so it’s not as much as they put on at Bobacabana or Prestotea but Grayson did say that they make theirs saltier here which helps balance out the sweetness of it. I accidentally mixed it up a bit before he got to drank it so it wasn’t as layered as it should have been when he was drinking it. He doesn’t mind it this way because it makes the tea creamier but he says if you’re a fan of cream cheese, it’s best that you drink it out of the lid like a latte so you get both the cream topping and the tea in one sip!
