Chipotle

I’ve heard many things about Chipotle through the grapevine but have only been able to give it a go recently because I actually had to grab lunch on the go.

Chipotle Robson

Chipotle’s Robson location has been around for a while in downtown Vancouver and they recently opened another location in Metrotown which is absolutely awesome because that means I can access such deliciousness even easier! Plus, the Metrotown location is not nearly as busy as the Robson one which is a total plus because come on, no one likes waiting in long lines for their food!

Chipotle is like the Mexican version of Subway. You start off by choosing what you want a salad, burrito, tacos (soft or hard), or just a bowl and they all go for the same fabulous price of $8.95. They you get to choose between a choice of brown/white rice, your choice of beans, meat, and salsas!

Grayson and I always get the burrito or tacos with the wraps on the side so what it really means is we get a bowl with a free wrap to go with it!

Uhh, genius? I think so!

Burrito bowl

My go to at Chiptole is the brown rice, fajita veggies, chicken, fresh tomato salsa, salsa verde, and lettuce. I’m less of a protein kinda gal so I usually pick the veggies instead of the beans although I keep trying to remind myself to just get both the next time I go but I keep forgetting to…whoops!

I’ve also been meaning to try the sofritos (the tofu vegan option) but the chicken is just so flavorful and wonderfully spiced that it makes me not want to try something new! Ohh the dilemma!

Burrito bowl

Grayson’s go to is usually the brown rice with black beans, barbacoa, fresh tomato salsa, corn salsa, lettuce, cheese and sour cream. He had the steak once before and found it a little under seasoned and dry so ever since they he’s been into the barbacoa because he says it’s much more flavorful. But more recently he’s been wanting to get the chicken because he tried mine the other day and said that it was the best out of all of the ones he’s tried so far!

My son’s a huge chipotle fan and i recreated the chicken for him for burritos and bowls. I love the way you described it like Subway – I never thought of it that way before. When they opened in MN they started slow but they’re hugely popular.

  3. Yum, this looks so beautiful and delicious – just in time for the warmer weather too 🙂
