Grayson and I haven’t been to cattle cafe in a couple of months. Seeing that they finally reopened the Cattle cafe Kingsway location (across from Metrotown) we decided to pay them a visit.
Cattle cafe fish noodle soup
As always, I got the noodle special ($8.95) with my usual go-to soup, noodles and toppings! So what do I get? Tomato and pumpkin soup with rice noodles (on the side), fish fillet and calamari of course!
I always order my noodles on the side because they give me so much that I never finish it so this way, the noodles won’t get all soggy when I get them to-go! Except the thing is…they always forget to take the noodles out and end up doing it after which means my noodles end up being extremely un-photogenic….
Grayson usually gets a rice dish but he felt like having noodles with me today so he got the combo as well. He got it with tomato pumpkin soup, ramen, chashu and some sort of beef.
Grayson said that the noodles still had a bite to them. The chashu was well seasoned with soy and flavorful. He didn’t expect it to be as good as it was being that this bowl of “ramen” wasn’t made in a Japanese capacity. He was pleasantly surprised with what he got.
Chinese broccoli
Since he was feeling extra hungry and wanted some greens, he decided to add on chinese broccoli with oyster sauce. Although he got his greens in, he wasn’t too big of a fan of the way they were prepared because they were over cooked, limp and quite oily.
