Cafe Bono

Korean cafe Bono that serves pallet coffee

Cafe Bono is a Korean cafe located in Hanin Village along North Rd. Cafe Bono isn’t very large on the inside but there are a few tables for you to catch up with friends. They specialize in espresso beverages, Korean snow ice and cakes.

Right beside the cashier station, you will find the pastry case. Their cakes looked so pretty in the fridge and ranged from $5-8 for a small cake. All the cakes are made in the cafe and I liked that they had Korean influences in their flavours! If you are not a fan of cakes, they also have banana bread, cookies, muffins, pecan pies, and scones!

They have a variety of drinks to choose from including coffees, teas, smoothies, sodas and lattes. It was rainy on the day we visited but if it wasn’t, we would have tried one of their ice flake desserts! For the summer season, they also had frappuccinos.

Almond croissant

This almond croissant was so flaky and buttery! You could see each of the layers of pastry on the inside and there were a few almonds on top. I liked that they warmed it up in the oven before handing it to us so it was extra flaky! I wish there were more almonds on it to add more crunchy texture. I’m also almost certain they don’t make these in house so that’s also disappointing.

I want to note that before we received our food, the barista took down our contact information because of the current pandemic. I thought this was thoughtful of them but I didn’t appreciate them keeping the contact book on the counter openly accessible to all guests. Just for privacy reasons.
