Bubba Tea

I love discovering new local spots to try out and Bubba Tea was just that. Bubba Tea is located below Surrey Central skytrain station which makes it a convenient cafe to visit. The interior has multiple tables for people to sit at so it’s the perfect spot to study or catch up.

What I also liked about Bubba Tea was that they also offered a variety of board games for you to play if you are there for their dine-in. They offer a variety of drinks including milk tea, refreshing tea, real fruit slushes, brown sugar drinks and even screamers which are like similar to milk shakes!

Jasmine milk tea with coconut jelly

A classic jasmine milk tea with subtle floral notes mixed in with the strong milk flavour. We ordered this unsweetened but it was still on the sweeter side probably because of the syrup that was in the coconut jelly? Not the best jasmine milk tea we had and since it was at a higher price point ($5.90) than other spots, we probably wouldn’t order it again.

House milk tea with coffee jelly

I haven’t seen coffee jelly offered at bubble tea spots before so I was excited to try this one out. Unfortunately, I don’t think the coffee jelly really tasted much like coffee and it was more sweet than anything because they had to keep the jelly cubes in a syrup. Then because the syrup flavour was so strong, I could hardly taste the flavour of the house milk tea! What resulted was almost a caramel milk tea flavour which I wasn’t expecting which was disappointing since it was a $7 drink.
