Bobacabana drinks

Hello friends! I honestly can’t believe that I only have ONE Bobacabana post because I go there practically every single weekend.

I’ve been so much that I finally managed to fill up an entire Bobacabana stamp card and there are 20 stamps to collect on that thing! I’m a little bit obsessed with loyalty cards and this is probably the first one I’ve filled up in a while. I like their loyalty card because not only do they give you cute pineapple and banana stamps. You also get a reward every 5 stamps like a free topping or drink. Then when you finish the entire card, you get a free waffle!

Bobacabana specialties

I’ve already mentioned in my previous post as to why I love the Bobacabana so much. In case you missed out on it…here’s the run down.

  1. Healthy smoothie options
  2. Option to add protein to your drinks
  3. Reusable cups/straw for sale
  4. Use real milk in their drinks (or almond/soy if you prefer that)
  5. Constantly coming up with new menu items

Originally I wasn’t going to get a reusable cup because I just have too many mugs back at home. I didn’t think it would be something I would use. BUT……I caved and got it because you get FREE toppings for life if you bring your Bobacabana cup in. This actually ended up being a great buy because I use it quite often now that it’s warmer out.

Anyway, here’s a review of a few of their drinks!

Matcha mousse

This one had the same base as the matcha milk tea I got last time but for some reason it looked more grassy in colour than the first time I had it so they either switched the powder they use or it’s a different drink base. I got this with aloe because it came with a cheesy foamy topping. The aloe was lightly sweet and added texture. The cheesy mousse on top added a tinge of saltiness and decadent creaminess to the drink so that it became practically dessert like.

Assam black tea with mousse

Seeing I got a drink with a mousse topping, Grayson decided that he wanted it on his drink too so he got his usual plain assam black tea with pearls and added the mousse on top. The mousse is only an additional 50 cents as an add-on instead of being a whole $1 more like most places that offer it. Even though Grayson isn’t a fan of milk tea, he enjoyed the richness the mousse topping added to it. He said it was like having a tea latte!

Roasted Hokkaido

This is one of their new drinks and unfortunately I wasn’t a fan. Even though I ordered it unsweetened, it was far too sweet for me because they use a powdered tea for it and it comes sweetened. They didn’t let me know while I was ordering and didn’t offer to remake it when I asked them why it was so sweet because it was so busy that day. I didn’t leave very happy but I was later contacted and all is well now. Anyway, not a fan because not only was it too sweet but it also lacked tea flavor so I wouldn’t get it again.

Black tea

Grayson got the black tea on that visit and as I’m writing this I’m confused as to why this picture of the black tea makes the tea look so much lighter than the previous one. Was it brewed differently or just a different brand of tea or they just used green tea? He wanted it with coconut jelly and the mousse but after he paid they told him he was out of the mousse so he had to swap it for pudding instead. He wasn’t too happy about this since he was really looking forward to the mousse but pudding was a welcome change.

Pandan milk tea

After the last visit I questioned coming back but they’ve been pretty good to me the other times I’ve gone and it was busy that particular day so I gave it another go. This time I decided to try the pandan milk tea because I wanted a bit of a treat. It was strong in pandan (screwpine) flavor. What is pandan and what does it taste like? Well it’s a floral grass that grows in Vietnam and other parts of Asia. It tastes a little like vanilla and coconut. Anyway, I’m happy to say that this was quite delicious and totally made up for our previous visit.

We’re currently on our last stamp so I can’t wait to try some of their waffles!
