A relatively new Korean place opened up in Coquitlam so what kind of Korean food lovers would we be if we didn’t check it out?
DDLE is located in a small complex and you would completely miss it if you aren’t looking for it. I only discovered it because lil’ bun, mother deer and I had sushi at Oyama sushi in the same complex.
What Grayson and I liked the most about this place was the fact that they had lots of variety with their banchan. We are so used to getting the typical bean sprout, marinated potatoes and kimchi that having SIX types of side dishes was like Christmas.
Our favorite was the japchae because we were able to enjoy the chewy noodles without ordering a whole order of them.
I decided to get the sundubu, otherwise known as seafood soup. I always get this when I go to Korean restaurants because it’s my favorite thing to eat. The soup was full of depth and filled with both seafood and tofu. I couldn’t get enough of it! This was definitely one of the top sundubus I’ve tried.
Grayson decided to get the bossam set. It’s essentially a plate of pork belly so what’s not to love right? This dish is usually offered as a large entree to be shared between larger parties so he’s never able to get it since I don’t like eating it so he jumped at the opportunity to have it on a smaller scale. It came with a side of paper thin daikon and spicy slaw to go with the pork. It came with seaweed soup and a bowl of rice to top it all off as well.
