Rose’s pizza

Pizza pizza pizza! I rarely EVER get a chance to eat pizza but when I was in New York, I had to make it happen! New York pizza is hand tossed and is topped with a dry mozzarella cheese instead of the stringy kind. Since our trip was so packed, we only ended up going for pizza on our last day at Penn Station at Rose’s pizza. We heard great things about the long standing shop so we were more than happy that it was at such a convenient location for us!

Rose’s pizza pies

Rose’s pizza has HUGE pizza slices! They also offered a large variety of pizzas to choose from. I was so overwhelmed when I walked into their store because there were pizzas everywhere! The only downside is that nothing was labeled so you really had to look and figure out what was what.

While I was gazing into the pizza display window, I noticed that they also had rectangular pizza aka. Sicilian pizza. I’ve never been to Italy so I didn’t know what made it different other than the fact that it was rectangular shaped. So, I decided to get one of those to try as well.

New York style pizza

I randomly chose the New York style pizza. It turned out to be one with tomato, chicken, cheese, and bbq sauce on it. The crust was very thin so you were able to taste each topping on the pizza. Mother deer liked that it was a thinner crust because it meant you didn’t get full off eating just the crust.

Sicilian pizza

The Sicilian pizza absolutely blew my mind. It was as though you were having bread sticks drenched in marinara sauce. It was sooo goood. I would say it probably had the crust to sauce ratio as 1:2 ! I’d get this one again in a heart beat!

Quick bites

  1. Lots of selections
  2. Price varies depending on slice but is about $5 each
  3. Good location underground at Penn station
