Cafe Hashtag is located along North Road in Hanin village across from H-mart. Cafe Hashtag specializes in crowaffles which is a waffle made with croissant dough which makes them buttery and crispy! In addition to their crowaffles they have sandwich cookies with unique fillings on the inside!

The interior of the cafe was spacious with bench seating, large tables for studying at and couches for smaller parties. There was woodsy furniture, white walls, accent paintings and lots of plants! I liked how the tables were spaced apart so that you weren’t too close to the neighbouring parties.

The menu here is quite large with coffee offerings, bubble tea, tea, lattes, sodas, dalgona lattes and desserts. Their desserts include crowaffles in plain, dalgona, cheese, nutella, churrus, and ice cream flavours. They also have dacquoises and double dacquoises to choose from.

I liked that they had the crowaffles in the display case so you could have a sense of what toppings are on them. We saw quite a few people order the dalgona crowaffle and ice cream version. There were different flavours of dacquoise as well. They came in strawberry, sweet potato, soy bean powder and plain flavours.

Hashtag crowaffle

We decided to get the Hashtag crowaffle because not only did it come with TWO crowaffles but it also came with fresh fruit, chocolate drizzle and maple syrup! The crowaffle was crispy and crunchy on the outside but soft and buttery on the inside. I absolutely loved the texture of these! Even more so than the cro-tai from Snowy Village which are made similarly.

The fruit helped balance the butteriness and sweetness of the waffles so I liked eating them together. In our opinion, the waffles were topped with enough chocolate drizzle, icing sugar and maple syrup so we didn’t add anymore. With that being said, we appreciated the option to add more if we wanted to. The whipped cream on the side was vanilla flavour and topped with ground cinnamon. This snack was so yummy and we will definitely be back!

Matcha Bubble Tea

I don’t typically order bubble tea at a cafe that doesn’t specialize in it but I decided to try one of theirs. The matcha flavour was strong but not to the point that it tasted grassy. The pearls were chewy and had a hint of sweetness to them. I ordered the matcha milk tea unsweetened but there was still sweetness to it since the matcha powder was sweetened. There also wasn’t many pearls in the cup as you can see in the photo and for $6, I think you can order a better cup elsewhere.
