Bibble and sip

Hello friends! I’m so excited to finally start sharing all the amazing places I tried on vacation….4 months ago? Yes, I know but better late than never right? I wanted to start things off with sharing Bibble and Sip with you! Bibble and Sip is a little cafe located in New York City that specializes in cute cakes and delightful cream puffs.

Bibble and Sip menu

The cafe was pretty small on the inside with a few booths and bar table seats. Since it was a rainy afternoon, the cafe was packed and people were everywhere! At one point I wasn’t sure if I was at the club or a cafe because I could barely move around!

Although the line was pretty long, we didn’t mind because we were able to take some time to decide on what to get. Brother deer said that we should go there for the cream puffs but we couldn’t help but admire their other desserts too!

We also noticed they had pretty interesting flavors of croissants like black sesame and everything bagel! We were going to get some of those but we were heading to Dominique Ansel after so we decided to opt out.

After a long wait, we finally got to the front of the line where we got to choose our cream puffs! They had boston cream, hazelnut, cookies and cream, earl grey, matcha, and black sesame flavors to choose from. I know, there were a lot of delicious sounding options!

We decided to go with the matcha, hazelnut and black sesame. It was a bit of a fight between the earl grey and hazelnut but we wanted to try one of their sweeter sounding cream puffs so we went with the hazelnut instead.

We cut our cream puffs in half to share and were surprised as to how filled each cream puff was! I mean it was filled to max. capacity and the surrounding choux pastry was quite thin.

Hazelnut cream puff

This cream puff is not for the faint hearted because it was dense! The cream puff was filled with chocolate hazelnut cream and topped with a chocolate ganache and white chocolate! It was intense and sweeter than the other two for sure. We couldn’t have much more than a bite of this one because it ended up being too sweet for us.

Matcha cream puff

The cream puff was dusted with matcha powder to add earthiness to the exterior. What surprised us about this puff was how pillowy soft and creamy the filling was. I mean it was luxurious! It wasn’t too sweet because it had a matcha base but there was enough going on for you to feel like it was a treat.

Black sesame cream puff

This one was my favourite of the three we got. It had nutty notes and was more prominent in flavour than the matcha. I would come back to get this one again and again. Sometimes simple flavours are best you know?

Quick bites:

  1. Lots of delicious pastries to choose from
  2. Probably the best cream puffs I’ve ever had (move over Beard papa’s)
  3. Be prepared to wait!
