Mezbaan Fine Indian restaurant

I’ve been on a misson to try new cuisines and new foods that are outside my comfort zone and one of the cuisines that I rarely have is Indian. That’s why we decided to visit Mezbaan Fine Indian restaurant. Mezbaan Fine Indian restaurant is located in Surrey and offers traditional Indian cuisine. They also serve all you can eat.

Chicken tikka

I decided to choose this because I like my chicken and I thought it would be a “safer” choice since I like grilled chicken and this would be similar. The chicken breast was heavily seasoned (in a good way) and had a kick to it. It wasn’t exactly a hot mouth-numbing type of heat though, rather it was heat that was created from the spices! The dish also came with bell peppers and onions but I wasn’t a fan of them because it felt like they just threw them on after the fact because it was all quite raw.

Chicken tikka masala

Grayson got this because he’s had it before elsewhere and loved it. At first I thought that it would be really similar to my dish since the first half of the name was the same but it wasn’t! Grayson’s chicken was served in a tomato based curry-like sauce. I thought the sauce was quite sweet but not in a displeasing way. I actually quite liked it and he did too. He said it was pretty up to par with the one he’s had at East is East!

Rice

Of course we couldn’t have our meal without rice so we ordered on portion of it. Originally Grayson wanted to order two but our server told us one would be enough and goodness was she right! It was the biggest “bowl” of rice I’ve ever seen in my life and I would argue that it was more like a pot of rice than a bowl! I think it was a mix of saffron and white rice but you wouldn’t be able to tell since the saffron wasn’t noticeable and the spices from our chicken took over

  • Hold up. Before this, you RARELY had Indian food??? Well I am SO glad you enjoyed this place because Indian food is my #1 favorite cuisine ever! I could never get sick of it :D anyways, this place looks great! I highly recommend trying a good chicken tandoori or a fish tandoori, and some good bhartas--my fave is eggplant!

    • I've seriously been missing out then! Definitely going to see if I can make some Indian food of my own too!
