Honey Doughnuts is located in Deep Cove in North Vancouver. Honey Doughnuts often has a line out the door and is known for their delicious pastries, donuts and breakfast items. Brother deer brought home half a dozen donuts from Honey’s the other day and we were all excited to try them out!

The thing that sets the donuts here apart from other donut shops is that their donuts are denser which leads to a heartier donut!

Original honey donut

I tried this donut the first time I visited Honey Doughnuts. I loved how you could really taste the honey flavour and how fluffy it was! It was unlike any other donut I’ve had before. You can read more about it in my previous post.

Cinnamon sugar donut

Cinnamon sugar is my go-to flavour for everything because I LOVE cinnamon. This donut was super dense and probably at least half a pound! The donut was sweet and the cinnamon sugar added a nice texture to the donut. I would give this donut 3 stars but it was a bit sweet for me.

Coconut donut

This was the one I was looking forward to trying the most! It had toasted coconut flakes on top and seemed interesting to try out. Unfortunately it really missed the mark for me because the glaze that was supposed to help the coconut flake actually made the coconut flakes come off! With each bite, some of the coconut would come off the top! It was similar to the honey donut but with coconut flakes.

Chocolate donut

Chocolate glazed donuts are such a classic! This donut wasn’t as dense feeling as the previous donuts. The chocolate glaze enrobed the entire donut and added sweetness. With the chocolate, the donut became too sweet for me so I couldn’t have more than a couple bites. If you love sweet donuts, this is a great pick for you!

Oreo donut

I didn’t see this donut the last time I was here so I’m guessing this is one of their newer creations. It was similar to the chocolate donut but with oreos! There were oreos on top and inside the donut! I liked how the cookie added texture to the donut but I don’t think the cookies would be as crunchy the next day.

Maple donut

Last but not least is the maple donut! How could you be a Canadian donut shop without a maple glazed donut right? This donut had the same type of donut base as the other donuts. It was a bit on the dense side and you could tell that it was deep fried. The maple glaze was sweet but you could still taste the maple flavour. If you’re a maple fan, you’ll love this one!
