Happy Lemon – Robson

Hello hello! It’s been a while since Grayson and I made a visit to Happy Lemon Robson so we decided to pay them a visit on our usual Thursday Tea-day. I was looking forward to having my usual daily $3.99 special at Happy Lemon Robson but they had replaced them with “monthly specials.”

Fresh taro milk tea

I found out that the $3.99 special for the month was their fresh taro milk tea which sounded interesting to me. I haven’t had fresh taro milk tea anywhere besides ZenQ. They only offered it hot so I was wanted to know if it would be any different.

I decided to get it without ice and even though they said that there was no sugar added, I found it sweet. I regretted getting it with pearls because they only added to the sweetness of the drink. Ah well you live and you learn.

I only chose to get pearls as an add-on because I didn’t realize that there would be chunks of real taro in the drink. Needless to say, it was a very strange experience drinking taro and pearls together in the same drink. Despite the fact that it was on the sweet side, I did enjoy the drink itself. The taro added an earthiness to it and being that it was made with fresh milk, it was creamy and refreshing. I would definitely get this again, just maybe without the pearls next time.

Green tea with pearls

Grayson is not very adventurous when it comes to drinks and opted for the usual plain green tea with pearls. He said the tea was “bitter in a nice way” because the pearls added some sweetness to everything. The people who were taking his order at the counter thought it was weird of him to order it like that. Actually, I’m not sure why everyone looks at us weird when we order unsweetened tea. It’s not that strange is it?

Happy Lemon stamp card

I’m not sure if I have ever shared this on here but I am a loyalty stamp card collector. Most bubble tea cafes have these but I never knew that Happy Lemon did as well. I guess this means we will be coming by more often now.
